Me on the Oregon coast in the  summer of '94

This leads to the next photo, taken at one of the Hookahville shows at Songbird. It was my then roommate, Ferdinand T. Marcos (aka Ferdi), that deemed me the nickname of  dub. He used to get so sick of me "dubbing down" hookah tapes, that the name got into the hands of a few band members and the rest was history.  Although I took a hiatus from the band during the end of the '96 and beginning of the '97 year, I could not stay away from my friends for too long. After putting my life back together and retaining my sanity from the wear of the road, I have returned home, which leads to the next picture, how I got involved with hookah to begin with... Dave Katz.

Dave and me in Moab on the banks of the Colorado River.

My favorite actor is Robin Williams. I've seen and collected almost every piece of work he has done. My favorite admitable enjoyment is probably travel. I love the planet earth and  have been to almost every major national park in the continental U.S. and have since graduated to the more intricate nooks of the country looking for it's inner beauty and less touristy areas. I hope that my adventurous travels eventually extend to the likes of the African jungle, Australia, and next on my list, Europe. Camping and outdoor activity are the primary means by which I travel. That, and Bed and Breakfast Inns, my future investment and hopefully retirement plan, as it has  always been a life long dream of mine.

My 1965 Beetle

I was born on February 17, 1969 in Granville, Ohio. I am Aquarian by nature and  have a younger brother, Jeff and a younger sister, Jen. My parents, Ray and Kay, are a few of the more wonderful people in the world. I graduated from Granville High school and continued my education three more years at the Ohio State University before leaving, uncertain on my life's direction. I  gained extensive knowledge in the details of  food preparation before having my fill. I then had the pleasurable experience of spending three and a half years on the road with the rock and roll band, ekoostik hookah, where I rendered my services as their drum technician and archivist (which I still do). I soon took on the responsibility of their merchandise department.

It was in the fall of 1988 when I met Dave. He was playing in Local Color at the time and a friend of one of my roommates. He has been one of my long time and closest  friends, now almost a decade and a half. On to other subjects, including some of my other interests and hobbies I enjoy. Obviously I enjoy music and collecting live recordings. I especially am fond of Jerry Garcia and all that he has done, including my 15 year interest with the Grateful Dead. I have been vegetarian since 1987, but love to eat sushi on occasion. Probably my favorite food next to chocolate.

Me at some hot springs outside of Bridgeport on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains in southern California.

I am currently involved in many computer things, one of which is bringing the archives of ekoostik hookah to the public's fingertips. I also enjoy scuba diving and cruising around town in my Volkswagen. I also enjoy watching a sport or two on the TV. I am also extensively involved in live taping to the point that I consider it an addiction. I recently acquired to felines by the name of Dylan and Hunter, named after two of the Dead's (and especially Jerry's) lyricists - Bob Dylan and Robert Hunter.  Well, I'm sure it has been a thrill getting to know me a little. Care to e-mail me, feel free and as always, I hope to hear from you....
